This past weekend of NBA Playoffs action was one of the most entertaining we’ve ever seen, and that has fans and bettors alike excited for Monday’s action.
And sure, it will be hard to top Sunday’s Warriors-Rockets game — which may have been a Game 1, but felt like a do-or-die Game 7, given its intensity — but these matchups will not disappoint, either, as we have no idea what Monday’s new series between the Nuggets and Trail Blazers will bring.
Best bets for April 29th’s NBA games
Philadelphia 76ers + 7
Getting seven points in what is close to a must-win game for the Sixers is too much to pass up on. The Raptors were the better-coached and more-prepared team in Game 1, and they blew out the Sixers, but now Philadelphia has had time to review the tape to make any necessary adjustments.
The Sixers cannot afford to go back to Philadelphia down two games in the series, with the Raptors having all the momentum as well. We expect the Sixers to put forth their best effort, and even if the Raptors win, we believe the score will be close, and Philly can get the cover.
Portland Trail Blazers +4
The Trail Blazers come into this series red-hot, having beaten the talented Thunder in only five games, even with them being listed as the underdog before Game 1 tipped off. Well, the Blazers looked like anything but, as sharpshooter Damian Lillard was the best player in the series, and has looked like the best in the playoffs, next to Kevin Durant. Lillard scored a ridiculous 50 points in the team’s Game 5 win, and he’s going to be a tough guard in this series, especially with the Nuggets lacking a long, athletic player that can get in his airspace and contest his shots.
Denver was great at home at Pepsi Center this season, but the Nuggets could be a bit fatigued heading into the series, having played a seven-game series against the Spurs. The Trail Blazers, on the other hand, are rested, and they’re one of the hottest teams in the playoffs. Watch out for them in Game 1, as it’s looking like they’re going to ride their momentum and win this contest outright, with Lillard and fellow guard CJ McCollum leading the way.
