The 2019 NBA Playoffs were once in full swing, with it appearing as if anyone could punch their ticket to the NBA Finals. Golden State was looking a bit vulnerable, and it was appearing as if both the Eastern Conference and Western Conference was up for grabs.
Well, that apparently was not the case.
The Milwaukee Bucks destroyed the Boston Celtics, then took a 2-0 lead against the Raptors. All of a sudden, fans and analysts alike were penciling the Warriors and Bucks into the finals.
But Kawhi Leonard and his Raptors teammates had something to say about that, winning three consecutive games, with a chance to punch their ticket to the NBA Finals on Saturday night. And we believe they’ll do exactly that.
Raptors – 2
Toronto is one win away from appearing in the NBA Finals for the first time ever, and not only that, they’ll have the benefit of attempting to do so at the friendly confines of Scotiabank Arena.
Most importantly, the Raptors have the best player in the series — and no, it’s not Giannis Antetokounmpo — in Kawhi Leonard on their roster. The Raptors went out and traded for Leonard this past summer, in an attempt to make a title run this season. Well, Leonard has looked like the 2014 NBA Finals MVP he once was, and the Raptors may not have even survived the first round had it not been for him.
Fred VanVleet, Kyle Lowry and Norman Powell have done a great job of supporting Leonard in their past three wins, and if they can continue to do that on Saturday night, we look for the Raptors to thrive off the energy from their home crowd and get the victory.
