The Warriors came up with a huge win in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, and all of a sudden, the momentum has swung back on their side heading back to Oracle Arena.
All the Warriors needed to do was to steal a win on the road — and they did that. Now, they’ll have the benefit of the home crowd at Oracle Arena behind them, in what will be the final series this venue ever hosts at the NBA level.
And, most importantly, the Warriors won a game without Kevin Durant — the best player in the world — with the likelihood that he may return in Game 4, which could potentially set them up very nicely, if they’re able to hold serve at home.
Warriors -3
We’ll bite on the low line here, as we believe the Raptors’ money that came in allows us to get a better number here. Laying a three-pointer isn’t bad value on the defending champions, who have won titles in three of the past four seasons, and are looking for another one, to complete their dynasty. Legacies are on the line in this series, and we believe the Warriors’ veterans will rise to the occasion, as they often do in the playoffs. The moment simply is not too big for them.
Speaking of rising to the occasion, the Warriors will need an X-Factor in Game 3, especially with Klay Thompson sidelined, due to a hamstring injury. We’re looking for a big performance from former NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala, who drained the game-winning three-pointer in Game 2, to step up and help Steph put some points on the board, as he can’t do it all himself.
The Warriors will be energized to return home after getting the split in Toronto, and will ride the momentum from the Game 2 win en route to another one on Wednesday.
